Weekend at St. Giles

We spent the last two days in and around St. Giles on High Street, downtown. We were planning on performing our drama on Saturday but because a brass band had a permit that day, we delayed the drama and instead, did some treasure hunting. Many of our team members had some significant encounters. Shelley talked to a lady from China whose husband cooks at a local Chinese restaurant. She was very receptive and agreed to meet at St. Giles with Shelley again on Sunday. She was very lonely and hungry for community. Brittany and Heath have been meeting with a girl who accepted the Lord on Saturday! They are continuing to communicate with her to get her plugged in to the local church here.

On Sunday we performed the drama. Although there weren’t as many people out on Sunday as there was on Saturday, we still saw a lot of fruit. Shelley met with the lady from China and the girl was very receptive. After going through the tract she said that she had previously prayed a prayer of salvation but didn’t understand how to be a Christian or to communicate with God. We plugged her in with Susie and another young lady from the church who will pursue her and take her throught the discipleship lessons. The team did some treasure hunts (even took some church members with them!) We opened air preached, which is unheard of here. Doors were opened. The pastor from the church here was able to talk with a guy for the Czech Republic who was very open. Norman will be meeting with him again.

We are having a blast. Tomorrow we start repacking to go back home and leave on Tuesday.
